If you haven’t seen this Chronicle (!) of Higher Education multimedia piece about university presidents’ pay, you should definitely take a look.
Our own Morton Schapiro took home a cool $1,255,653 total in 2010, which makes him the 17th-highest paid university president in America:
Total compensation: $1,255,653
Base pay as % of total: 58.8%
Time in position (through 2010): 1 years
His total pay also increased 110% since 2009, when he brought in $597,863. Although he’s the 17th highest paid college president, it’s worth keeping in mind that he’s #3 when it comes to presidents in for a year or less.
